Especially those who have recently published your books, welcome to join us! “IPHS 2018 Book Talk” will be held in the room 9 of the Yokohama Port Opening Memorial Hall from 13:45 to 14:45 (business meeting time) on July 17th. Each presenter have 5 minutes to introduce their books. We also offer you an exhibition table to show your books so please bring in your publications.
From Architectural Ethnography to Planning: Kon Wajiro and Nishiyama Uzōʼs participatory research of everyday space in Japan from the 1910s to the 1970s This exhibition features the achievements of two architects, Kon Wajiro (1888‒1973) and Nishiyama Uzō (1911‒1994). Both worked outside of the prevalent architectural trends of the first half of the twentieth century. They documented the everyday living conditions of ordinary people and proposed new forms of housing for people on low incomes.
